Sip and share

More than any past holidays, this year I've been struck with the depth of feeling abandoned by my family.  For years, it's chipped away at my self esteem and bruised my emotional health.  

"Just like how Adam and Eve were vegetarians until the fall of man!" the speaker proclaimed during the youth rally.

I recently took my husband to a concert that really wasn't my jam.  It wasn't a genre I listen to, and it wasn't an artist I ever thought I'd go see (on purpose,) but it turns out, I had a great time.

I sat in my living room, seething.  I couldn't even stand having the tv on for background noise.  I had been wronged!

At church this week, an amazing man shared his testimony.  It was tumultuous, with extreme lows and God forgiving him of a depraved past.  As I listened, I thought of my own salvation story.

It started with the smallest prayer.  A whisper.  "God, please."  Have you prayed the same thing?  A prayer without the words to describe the deep pain and need.
