My Life, a Vapor

My emotions are a tangled mess, and I'm grappling with the fleeting nature of my life as I reflect on a family member's recent diagnosis of a critical illness.

Have you ever looked squarely at your own mortality?

One of my favorite ways to process emotions is to go on a drive/cry/pray/sing.

Last week, I was driving, and this song came on.  I didn't remember adding it to my USB, and I had never heard it before, but I knew immediately that it was spoken to me by the Holy Spirit.

Vapor by Ryan Stevenson

If life is a vapor that's here and then goneThen let every heartbeat and moment of breath belongTo you

If life is a journeyInto your loveThen one million lifetimesCould never be enough with you

Let my life be unto devotionThat's led by your voiceAnd yielded to your perfect plan

Let my life be unto surrender
That counts it all joy
To trust w
hen I don't understand
Let every day that remains in your hands
Be unto the Lamb

If life holds a blessing Here at your feetThen Lord, here's my offeringI give what I cannot keep to you

If life is a journey into your loveThen one million lifetimes could never be enoughWith you

Let my life be unto devotion that's led by your voiceAnd yielded to your perfect plan

Let my life be unto surrenderThat counts it all joyTo trust when I don't understand

Let every day that remains in your hands be unto the Lamb

Unto your kingdom moving on the earthUnto beholding your matchless worth
If life is a vapor on this rock I'll standHere in your presence, here in your hands

Let my life be unto devotion that's led by your voiceAnd yielded to your perfect plan

Let my life be unto surrender that counts it all joy
To trust when I d
on't understand

Let my life be unto to devotion that's led by your voiceAnd yielded to your perfect plan

Let my life be unto surrender that counts it all joyTo trust when I don't understand

Let every day that remains in your handsBe unto the Lamb

I don't know how long I'll live, but I want to serve him with everything I can for as long as I can.  What about you?

If you love Ryan Stevenson, he'll be giving a free concert in Klamath Falls, Oregon on May 30th as part of CityFest.  And if you don't live in Klamath Falls, good news!  CityFest has a variety of other locations and other performers.  Have you attended one?  Is there one coming up on your area?
